Employees provident fund organisation has launched new facility i.e. Universal Account Number UAN for each of the provident fund / pension member. The idea is to link multiple member Identification Numbers allotted to a single member under single (Universal Account Number).
For authenticating UAN, it’s mandatory to upload KYC of concerned member employee to tag the same with respective employees UAN. Activation of UAN can be done by member with help of their mobile number & IFSC Code or even employer can carry out bulk uploading of data on behalf of employees with their cell no, bank ac / no and IFSC Code No of employee’s Bank.
Here are the 7 easy steps to activate your UAN. They are as follows
- Visit www.epfindia.gov.in
- Select ‘Our services’ and click on ‘For employees’
- Click on ‘Member UAN /Online Services’
- Click on ‘Activate your UAN'(located under ‘Important Links” on the right hand side)
- Enter your basic details like UAN, Name, Date of birth, Mobile no and captcha, click on ‘Get Authorization pin’ OTP will be sent on the registered mobile
- Click on ‘I Agree’ and enter the OTP
- Finally, click on ‘Validate OTP and Activate UAN’
BENEFITS OF HAVING UAN (Universal Account Number) 1. Member gets credit message whenever PF contribution is created to their PF Ac/no on monthly basis. 2. Member can view his /her PF balance on EPFO website and can also have his/ her PF balance details on his/her mobile no.
